Placing Orders
The Order Form sits in the left panel of the trading terminal. It has two layouts — Basic and Advanced — that you switch between per user (your choice is remembered). Basic keeps things minimal; Advanced unlocks managed brackets, conditional orders, risk-based sizing, and multi-target take-profits.
Basic vs Advanced
Section titled “Basic vs Advanced”| Basic | Advanced | |
|---|---|---|
| Order types | Market, Limit | Market, Limit, Conditional Market, Conditional Limit |
| Order mode | Standalone only | Managed or standalone (your choice) |
| Sizing | Size % / quantity | Size % or Risk % |
| Take-profit | — | Up to multiple TP targets with scale-out |
| Stop loss | Single optional SL | Full TP/SL bracket (managed) or single SL (standalone) |
Order types
Section titled “Order types”| Type | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Market | Executes immediately at the current market price. |
| Limit | Rests until the market reaches your specified price. |
| Conditional Market | Waits for the market to hit your trigger price, then fires a market order. |
| Conditional Limit | Waits for your trigger price, then places a limit order at your chosen limit price. |
Conditional order support by exchange: Bybit, Binance, OKX, GateIO, CoinW, Phemex and the virtual/challenge engine support trigger orders. Hyperliquid supports Market and Limit only.
Managed vs standalone orders
Section titled “Managed vs standalone orders”In Advanced view a Managed position checkbox controls how your order is handled. It is checked (managed) by default.
| Mode | Checkbox | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Managed | Checked | The terminal opens the position and attaches your full take-profit / stop-loss bracket automatically. Configure TP targets and an SL, and they are placed for you. |
| Standalone | Unchecked | A raw entry order with no automatic bracket. You may attach a single optional stop loss. This is also the only mode that exposes Conditional (trigger) order types. |
Leverage & margin mode
Section titled “Leverage & margin mode”Leverage and margin controls appear only for futures accounts (spot accounts have neither).
Leverage — click the leverage button to open the leverage dialog. It offers a slider (with markers at 1x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x) and quick-select preset buttons (1x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 75x, 100x) plus a Max button that jumps to the maximum leverage the symbol allows (varies per symbol). A colour indicator flags the risk band:
| Band | Leverage |
|---|---|
| Low | 1x – 10x |
| Medium | 11x – 50x |
| High | above 50x |
Margin mode — toggle between Isolated and Cross.
Position sizing
Section titled “Position sizing”In Advanced view a toggle switches between two sizing methods:
- Size % — allocate a percentage of your available balance (or enter an exact quantity). This is the only method in Basic view.
- Risk % — you set the percentage of your account you are willing to lose, plus a stop-loss price. The terminal solves for the position size from the distance between entry and stop, so your loss at the stop equals that percentage.
Risk presets of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% are one click away. On challenge accounts the default risk is pre-filled from the challenge’s max risk per trade rule.
Take-profit targets & scale-out
Section titled “Take-profit targets & scale-out”In managed mode you can set multiple take-profit targets and scale out of the position across them.
- Add / remove targets — allocations automatically redistribute across the remaining targets using the configured strategy (Equal, Pyramiding, or Custom).
- Per-target allocation — expressed as a percentage of the position or as a raw quantity.
- Target value modes — each target’s price can be entered three ways:
- Price — an absolute price level.
- Gain % — a percentage move from entry.
- R:R — a risk-reward multiple relative to your stop distance (targets show an
Rlabel instead of%).
Your stop loss is a single level and can likewise be entered as a price, a loss %, or synced from your saved risk profile. In managed mode, enabling TP/SL requires a stop loss to be set before the order can be placed.
Reduce-only & spot behavior
Section titled “Reduce-only & spot behavior”A reduce-only order can only shrink or close an existing position — it will never open a new one or flip your direction. When reduce-only is active on a standalone order, the size input’s minimum steps up so you can’t accidentally submit a dust-sized order.
Trade preview & order details
Section titled “Trade preview & order details”Before you submit, the order details readout shows the live economics of the order:
| Field | Shown | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Value | Always | Notional value of the order (size × price). |
| Margin | Futures only | Margin required = value ÷ leverage. |
| Fees | Always | Estimated round-trip fee (~$). Assumes a maker rate for a resting limit entry and a taker rate for market entries and the exit leg. Shows -- when fee rates aren’t available yet. |
| At-Risk | Risk sizing + SL set | Dollar amount you lose if the stop loss is hit. |
Clicking Buy/Long or Sell/Short opens a preview / confirmation step before the order is actually sent, so you can sanity-check size, leverage and exits first. Once confirmed, the order appears in the Positions & Orders table at the bottom of the screen.
